Introduction
Pakistan Education Foundation (PEF) is a parent organization of Karachi Institute of Economics & Technology (KIET) and offers scholarships and financial assistance to merit based and need based respectively. The Scholarship & Financial Assistance Program (SFAP) Committee will scrutinize the received applications and through a vetting process will determine the candidates eligible for scholarships and financial assistance. Through the Financial Assistance and Scholarship Program Committees, we administer the financial need of the student throughout the year.
Aims and Objectives
PEF Scholarship & Financial Assistance Program is aimed at ensuring quality higher education be provided to the students and remove the financial barrier that prohibits excellent students to pursue higher education.
Eligibility Criteria for Financial Assistance Program
For Undergraduates
- Student must have cleared the entrance exam and the interview to be admitted into PAF-KIET.
- Students are required to pay the admission fees and one time charges before they apply for the financial assistance program.
- Students must apply through PEF-SFAP website and must apply during the stipulated application period.
- Students are required to submit the following documents for the financial assistance program:-
- Identification documents. If the students is above 18 years old then a copy CNIC is to be submitted otherwise a copy of the first page of the passport.
- Copy of CNIC of father or guardian
- Pay slip of father’s/guardian’s salary for the past 3 months.
- A copy of the service letter from father’s/guardian’s organization.
- Bank Statement of father/guardian account for one year.
- To complete the scrutiny, a team authorized by the committee will visit the residence of the student and submit its report.
For Graduates
- Student must have cleared the entrance exam and the interview to be admitted into PAF-KIET.
- Student must hold a bachelor’s degree to be eligible for the financial assistance program.
- Student is required to pay the admission fees and one time charges before they apply for the financial assistance program.
- Students must apply through PEF-SFAP website and must apply during the stipulated application period.
- Students are required to submit the following documents for the financial assistance program:-
- Appointment letter. It is imperative for graduate students to be employed before applying for the program.
- Copy of CNIC of self and father or guardian.
- Pay slip of student’s salary for the past 3 months.
- A copy of the service letter from student’s organization/workplace.
- Bank Statement of student’s own account for one year.
- To complete the scrutiny, a team authorized by the committee will visit the residence of the
student and submit its report.
PEF-SFAP Committee
- Chairman of SFAP Committee.
- Director of relevant College.
- Two full time faculty members.
- Member of the Finance and Planning Committee.
- One expert opinion/consultant.
